Illamasqua is a cosmetics company whose roots extend as far as the 1920's. Originally achieving success by providing makeup for movie stars classic Illamasqua also found consumers in the club scene of 1920 unusual time. Arriving at the scene some 25 years later, Estee Lauder was founded by a woman named Estee Lauder (surprisingly) and her husband, Joseph, in 1946.
In 1960, cosmetics had become much more than a way to add contrast in black and white films - the makeup industry division was entirely at the seams and the new fashion and cosmetic lines were sprouting up left and right. Yves Saint Laurent, Clinique cosmetics were founded in the 60's, while brands like Stargazer, M Barry and Mac all came into play during the 70's or early 80, respectively.
