No more than choosing the color cosmetics to look
Look for products that are labeled non-comedogenic, because they are formulated not to clog pores. Going a step beyond that, some cosmetics companies offer products that work double duty to serve the visual function needed for the product while helping to nourish the skin a little. Some of these offers still have acne-fighting ingredients like benzoyl peroxide. Choose makeup powder over makeup cream may also help prevent clogged pores. The key to remember is if you are very heavy, it probably is.
Start with a clean palette
It is best to apply makeup to skin that is clean. Take for example the foundation, put a new base layer over a previously applied layer will not make your skin any favors. A more pleasant to the skin would be to remove the excess oil that gently cleanses the skin first. Moisture is important for the health of the skin so a good step would be to apply a light layer of moisturizer. This also helps reduce flaking and peeling that could result from certain treatments for acne or skin that is naturally prone to dryness.
